Objectives This paper focuses on the effects of the geometric parameters of a floating raft on isolation performance^
Methods Based on the idea that the weight of a floating raft remains constant, a parametric finite element model is established using geometric parameters, and the effects of the geometric parameters when isolation performance is measured by vibration level difference are discussed^
Results The effects of the geometric parameters of a floating raft on isolation performance are mainly reflected in the middle and high frequency areas^ The most important geometric parameters which have an impact on isolation performance are the raft's height, length to width ratio and number of ribs^ Adjusting the geometric parameters of the raft is one effective way to avoid the vibration frequency of mechanical equipment^
Conclusions This paper has some practical value for the engineering design of floating raft isolation systems^
