Abstract:
Objectives Aiming at the defect that the empirical formula of sea spray flux depends on the observation data of specific ships, a correction method for the empirical formula of sea spray flux on the deck of polar ships is proposed. Methods By analyzing the parameter characteristics of the empirical formula, it is proposed to modify the empirical formula of sea spray flux by taking the numerical solution of sea spray flux of ship types and the corresponding environmental conditions as input. The reliability of the numerical method is verified by numerical wave shape and MFV fishing vessel spray flux calculation. Based on the proposed method, the empirical formulas of sea spray flux of four different ship types, such as bulbous bow, ice resistant bow, clipper bow and raked bow, are modified. Results The theoretical solution and numerical solution of the empirical formula of the fishing vessel spray flux are in good agreement, and the other four types of ship spray duration coefficients are close to each other, and the liquid water content coefficient is close to the coefficient in the existing empirical formula. Conclusions The results show that the proposed method has the ability to correct the empirical formula of sea spray flux for different ship types.
