Abstract:
Objectives This paper aims to solve the problem of the long scheduled maintenance duration of warships.
Methods Combining the characteristics of the maintenance management and control of warships, research on the application of scheduled maintenance cycle management and control for warships is carried out based on critical chain project scheduling. A "buffering period" is set to solve the problems that may be encountered in the formulation, implementation and monitoring of the maintenance cycle, and a management and control model of the maintenance cycle of warships is established on the basis of the critical chain method (CCM). The feasibility and effectiveness of this model are then verified through actual case calculations.
Results The results show that the use of CCM can reduce the overhaul period of a main engine by nearly 63% while ensuring maintenance quality.
Conclusions The application of CCM to the management and control of warships scheduled maintenance cycle not only enriches the theoretical system, but also has great significance for optimizing the management and control, and improving operational availability of warships.
