Speed and power distribution strategy collaborative optimization based on PSO for fuel cell ships

  • Objectives Revision: Regarding the current segmented optimization, there are two main issues: the presence of speed ladder characteristics and the lack of coordination between power distribution in the propulsion system and the speed optimization strategy,A collaborative optimization method of speed and power distribution strategy for fuel cell ships based on particle swarm optimization is proposed. Methods Based on the meteorological environment data, the spatial grid clustering analysis of ship navigation area is used as the basis for route segmentation, a speed-hydrogen consumption model of a fuel cell ship at constant speed and variable speed is constructed, design the optimal way of passing down and linking the optimal value of speed from segment to segment, the particle swarm optimization (PSO) is used to optimize the ship's full range speed. Results Simulation results show that the collaborative optimization method of speed and power allocation strategy reduces hydrogen consumption by 3.11% and 1.41%, respectively, compared with the original speed and the traditional speed segmentation optimization method. Conclusions It is proved that the proposed method can further improve the ship sailing energy efficiency, improve the defect of the traditional stage optimization speed ladder distribution, and improve the practicality of application in short-range ships.
