Research on Optimal Control of Safety for Weapons and Low Noise during Launching for Underwater Vehicles

  • Objectives Low-speed launching of weapons by underwater vehicles can greatly reduce the radiated noise. However, it may cause the collision of the weapon leaving the launch tube and the moving vehicle if the launching velocity is too low. In this paper, an optimization model of weapon safe launch velocity is constructed considering the influence of relevant parameters such as attitude, speed of the vehicle and lateral ocean current environment. The safe launch velocity can be decided immediately according to the current vehicle and environmental parameters to realize the optimal control of weapon low noise launch. Methods A method of weapon launch safety evaluation and analysis based on danger point displacement envelope is proposed for the first time, and three data fitting methods are used to construct the weapon launch velocity optimization model based on 175 working condition samples. Results The boundary spectrum and the optimization model of weapon safe launch velocity are obtained under the condition of multi-influence factors and multi-constraint criteria, which covering the vehicle pitch Angle -5° to 5°, speed 0 ~ 4m/s and lateral ocean current speed 0 ~ 2m/s conditions. Three algorithms of multivariate polynomial fitting, polynomial response surface fitting and Kriging interpolation fitting are used in this study. Kriging interpolation fitting is the most suitable for the construction of weapon safe launch velocity optimization model whose fitting residual is 0. Conclusions Speed of vehicle has a significant effect on the safe launch velocity of the weapon only when there is a certain pitch angle of the vehicle. The lower limit of the safe velocity boundary spectrum is gradually affected with the increase of lateral current velocity, and the upper limit of the safe velocity boundary spectrum is gradually affected with the increase of the pitch angle of the vehicle.
