Stress peak optimization solution for circular holed corrugated core sandwich panels under uniaxial tension

  • Objective In order to study circular holed corrugated core sandwich panels stress distribution and solve the position where stress concentration factor of the hole edge achieve maximum, Method both submodelof analysis method and subproblem method of optimization was employed just for calculation stress distribution of different hole position and solution of hole position respectively. Results The stress distribution around hole has much to do with mesh size, while the analysis sequence that first general model is analyzed then sub model analyzed may save much computer time and obtain high calculation accuracy. Conclusion The stress concentration factor of circular holed infinity corrugated core sandwich panels under uniaxial tension is more than 3 generally, reaches to 4.104 at most; the maximum stress of the hole edge is always at the core sheets.
