Displacement sensor with a wide dynamic range based on a balloon-shape long-period fiber grating

摘要: 摘要:【目的】针对目前光纤位移传感器动态范围窄的问题,设计了一种结构简单、易于制备的气球状长周期光纤光栅(Long-period fiber grating, LPFG)位移传感器。【方法】通过RSOFT软件进行仿真与优化的基础上,得到光纤在不同曲率下的光谱形态来确定测量区间。通过将多模光纤周期性嵌入单模光纤形成的气球型长周期光纤光栅 (Multimode fiber balloon-shape LPFG, MMF-BLPFG)提供了用于测量位移的参考峰。使用精密的连续切割装置作为实验基础,制备了与仿真结果一致的试验样品进行测试。【结果】通过测量两个谐振峰的漂移实现了最大位移测量范围36 mm的位移测量范围。【结论】在舰船水下疏水空间管系的稳定性测量和连续监测等需要大规模测量的场景中具有良好的应用潜力。Abstract: Abstract: [Objective] Aiming at the problem of narrow dynamic range of optical fiber displacement sensor at present, a balloon long-period fiber grating (LPFG) displacement sensor with simple structure and easy preparation is designed. [Methods] Based on the simulation and optimization by RSOFT software, The measurement range is determined by the spectral shape of the optical fiber under different curvature. Multimode fiber balloon-shaped LPFG (MMF-BLPFG) formed by periodically embedding multimode fiber into single-mode fiber provides a reference peak for measuring displacement. Using the precise continuous cutting device as the experimental basis, the test samples consistent with the simulation results were prepared for testing. [Results] The maximum displacement measurement range of 36 mm was achieved by measuring the drift of two resonance peaks. [Conclusion] It has good application potential in large-scale measurement scenarios such as stability measurement and continuous monitoring of underwater drainage space piping system of ships.
