Abstract： [Objectives] The super long array aperture of towed array sonar and its advantages of being far away from the radiated noise of the submarine make it a good sensor of submarine underwater combat. Up to now, there is no clear design method. This paper describes the overall engineering design context and key points of submarine platform equipped with towed array sonar.
[Methods] In view of this problem, the design of sensing system and retraction & release system are two major directions, data collection and in-depth discussion were carried out on the selection of towed array sonar quantity, sensitive material type, cable array design, winch design, cable arrangement device design, driving mode selection, conduit design, release port location selection and so on.
[Results] The basic process and method of submarine platform installation of towed array sonar was obtained, this paper provides a reference for submarine designers in the overall design process of deploying towed array sonar.
[Conclusions] The designers of submarine can flexibly use the relevant engineering design points, find the balance point among many elements and design a better towed array sonar equipment scheme by combining the actual state of submarine platform and the technical characteristics of towed array sonar hardware products.
