[Objectives] The dust-cleaning technology is the core of the filter cartridge dust collector, and the cleaning effect is related to the efficiency, service life and economic benefits of the filter cartridge. Therefore, it is of great significance to study the performance of cleaning process.
[Methods] Fluent software is used to accurately simulate the internal pulse-jet process of two different shape filter cartridges. The characteristics and changes of the pulse flow field inside the filter cartridges of different shapes are analyzed from the aspects of speed and pressure. And two indexes of the peak pressure difference and the peak pressure arrival time are used to compare the influence of different filter cartridge shapes on the cleaning performance.
[Results] The results indicate that the conical combined filter cartridge can significantly improve the poor cleaning effect existing on the upper part of the cylindrical filter cartridge.
[Conclusions] Therefore, the cleaning effect of the conical combined filter cartridge is better than that of the cylindrical filter cartridge in the pulse cleaning process. The results can provide guidance for solving the dust removal problem of the filter dust collector.
